For Divine Guidance and Protection 6.

CONSIDER and hear us, O Lord: assist our timid efforts, give the end of the act, Thou Who didst give the beginning of the will: grant that we may be able to accomplish the thing which Thou hast already granted that we should desire to commence; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. For the Spirit of Prayer.

O GOD of hope, the true Light of faithful souls, and perfect Brightness of the blessed, Who art verily the Light of the Church: Grant that my heart may both render Thee a. worthy prayer, and always glorify Thee with the offering of praise; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. To Pray Aright 2.

O LORD, Who seest that all hearts are empty except Thou fill them, and all desires balked except they crave after Thee: Give us light and grace to seek and find Thee that we may be Thine and Thou mayest be ours forever; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. For Wisdom 3

O GOD, the Searcher of deeds and hearts, to Whom every thought of man maketh confession: Strengthen the weakness of our minds by the might of Thy blessing, that we. may think such things as be just and holy, and by a good life pay our faithful vows to Thee, our Lord God; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. For Wisdom 2

O GOOD Shepherd, Who, for the ransom of Thy mortal sheep, hast drunk the cup of the Passion: We humbly call upon Thy Name, that, stablishing us upon the pillars of wisdom, Thou wouldest strengthen us with the hallowing of Thy sevenfold Spirit; who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.38).

For Grace to Praise God 5

ALMIGHTY and. Holy Spirit, the Comforter pure, living, true: Illuminate, govern, sanctify me, and confirm my heart and mind in the faith, and in all genuine consolation ; preserve and rule over me, that dwelling in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, I may be and remain forever in the temple of the Lord, and praise Him with a joyful spirit in union with all the heavenly Church; Who with the Father are one God, world without end. For the Holy Ghost 5

ALMIGHTY, Everlasting God, lighten our eyes with the light of Thy Spirit, that we sleep not in evil deeds, but with the help of His grace, may ever watch in Thy commandments, and, when Christ cometh, may pass to the reward of our high calling; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.26).

For Victory in Temptation 3.

ALMIGHTY God, the Preserver of Thy people in their invisible wars, Who permittest not them that put their trust in Thee to be oppressed by their enemies: Wipe away, we beseech Thee, the tears of sin from the eyes of Thy servants, to the end that we through Thy grace may both now conquer in every carnal battle, and walk before Thee in the Light of the living; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. In Adversity 2.

O GOD, be Thou to us in adversity Refuge, in battle Consolation, to the end that when Thou shalt come to judge the earth, they may be sharers with Thee in joy, who have been followers after Thee in sorrow: through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Temper and Tongue.

O LORD, our Refuge from the storm, hide us, we entreat Thee, in Thine Own presence from the provoking of all men; and by Thy holy love and fear keep us from sins of temper and tongue; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.51).
