Concerning the Eucharist, thus give thanks 2:

THOU hast given unto us, O Lord, sanctification in the communion of the all-holy body and precious blood of Thy Only-Begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ; give unto us also the grace of Thy Good Spirit, and keep us blameless in the faith, lead us into perfect adoption and redemption, and to the coming joys of eternity; for Thou art our sanctification and light, O God, and Thy Only-Begotten Son, and Thy All-Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.150).

Concerning the Eucharist, thus give thanks 1:

FIRST as to the cup: We give Thee thanks, our Father, for the Holy Vine of David, Thy servant, Which Thou hast made known to us through Jesus, Thy Servant; to Thee be the glory unto the ages. As to the broken bread: We give thanks, our Father, for the life and the knowledge which Thou hast made known unto us through Jesus, Thy Servant; to Thee be the glory unto the ages. As this broken bread was scattered over the hills, and having been gathered, became one, so may Thy Church be gathered, from the ends of the earth into Thy Kingdom; for Thine is the glory and power through Jesus Christ unto the ages. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.150).

Thanksgiving after the Communion 1.

GLORY be to Thee, my Lord and my God, for thus feeding me with Thy most blessed body and blood! Let This heavenly food impart new life and vigor to me, and to all who communicate with me, that our faith may increase daily, that we may become humble and contrite for our sins, may love Thee, serve Thee, delight in Thee, and praise Thee, more fervently and constantly than we have ever done before; O Thou, Who with the Father livest and reignest, ever one God, world without end. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.149).

Before the Holy Communion 5.

WE, do not presume to come to this Thy table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in Thy manifold and great mercies : We be not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under Thy table; but Thou art the same Lord, Whose property is always to have mercy; grant us therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the Flesh of Thy dear Son, and to drink His blood in these holy mysteries, that we may continually dwell in Him and He in us, that our sinful bodies may be made clean by His body, and our souls washed through His most precious blood. Amen.  (Oremus, 1925, p.141).

Before the Holy Communion 1.

O GOD, be merciful to me, the sinner. O HOLY GHOST, sanctify us and purify my heart and lips, that in the Name of the Lord and in the power of His Word, I may worthily receive this holy sacrament; Who with the Father livest and reignest, ever one God, world without end. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.139-140, adapted).

Before the Holy Communion 7.

LORD, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst come under my roof, for it is desolate and ruinous, neither wilt Thou find within me place to lay Thy head; but since Thou hast not disdained to recline in a stable with the brute beasts, nor disdained to be the guest of Simon the Leper, neither hast spurned the woman, who like me, was a great sinner, nor abhorred the washing of her tears: So deign, O Lord, to receive me, the chief of sinners, to the participation of This immaculate and life-giving sacrament. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.142).

After Preaching.

O God, I have heard Thy humble servant, who has sown Thy seed; do Thou give the increase, to the health of souls, the spread of Thy kingdom and Thy glory. All glory and honor be unto Thee, O God. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.139, adapted).

Before Preaching 1.

O LORD JESUS, Who hast done all things well, Who makest both. the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak: I beseech Thee, lay Thy hands upon our pastor, loose the string of his tongue, that he may speak plainly; open the deaf ears of Thy people, that they may hear the words which belong unto eternal life; Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.138, adapted for lay use).

After the Holy Gospel.

GOD, Who hast sounded into our ears Thy divine and salutary oracles; Illuminate the souls of us sinners to the comprehension of that which has been read, so that we may not only be seen to be hearers of spiritual things, but doers of good works, following after faith without guile, blameless life, conversation without charge of guilt; in Christ Jesus our Lord, with Whom Thou art blessed, with Thy most Holy and Good and Quickening Spirit, now and ever and to ages of ages. Amen.  (Oremus, 1925, p.137).

Before the Holy Gospel.

O LORD and Lover of men, cause the pure Light of Thy divine knowledge to shine forth in our hearts, and open the eyes of our understanding, that we may comprehend the precepts of Thy Gospel; plant in us also the fear of Thy blessed commandments, that we, trampling upon all carnal lusts, may seek a heavenly citizenship, both saying and doing always such things as shall well please Thee; for Thou art the illumination of our souls and bodies, Christ our God; and to Thee we ascribe glory and honor, worship and praise, now and for evermore. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.137).
