179. I lay me down to sleep in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Crucified. May He bless, defend, and lead me unto eternal life. Amen.
Unto Thee, Lord, Heavenly Father, I render praise and thanksgiving for all Thy loving-kindness which Thou hast this day so graciously shown unto me. I pray Thee, protect and defend me from evil this night. Keep from me the devil and every vexation, that I may rest safely and sleep in peace. Let me not be overcome by an evil death this night, without a recognition of Thy beloved Son; but, let me with joy arise from sleep to acknowledge Thy grace, to praise Thy holy name, and to render thanks unto Thee; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer and Savior.
