Morning Prayer for Saturday. 2

  1. Praise be unto Thee, O heavenly Father, that Thou lookest upon my miserable estate so paternally, and hast shown me, a poor, weak, and perishable creature who am worth naught because of mine inborn sin, so great grace, even unto this day. Grant that I may fully realize my imperfections, and how I, conceived and born in sin, would be eternally lost on account of my sins if, for Thy beloved Son’s sake, Thou hadst not been mindful of me, so that I may ever thank Thee and never abuse Thy grace and manifold benefits. Defend me henceforth against every disaster to body and soul. Let me not fall into pride or presumption, but rather, teach me that I must die and that my life has its goal, so that I may be daily prepared, when mine hour cometh to depart from this misery, to fall quietly and peacefully asleep in the knowledge of Thee, and, with all believers enter into eternal joy and glory. Amen. (Pages 388)
