Prayer for Wednesday

Lord Jesus Christ, the darkness descends upon us, to whom shall we flee? Unto Thee I come, O Heavenly, Eternal Light. Shine Thou round about me that mine eyes fall not into the sleep of eternal death. Banish from my presence the evil spirit and all his angels and whatsoever else is at enmity with my soul. Cause me to sleep in peace, to rest in safety, and to awake again in joy, to live a Christian life, and, at last, to die a blessed death. Let Thy grace be with me now and at all times, unto all eternity. Amen. O Son of David, have mercy upon me and forgive me all my transgressions. Amen.
