Catechesis on Palmarum (St. Matthew 26:1-27:54)

On Wednesday nights, Trinity Lutheran Church(Herrin, IL) offers to both children and adults an opportunity for teaching with Learn-by-Heart at 6:30 PM and a catechetical service at 7:00.

In this video from March 21, 2018, we learned stanzas 2-3 of “alas! And Did My Savior Bleed” (Lutheran Worship, #97), questions 10-16 of the Christian Questions with their Answers from Luther’s Small Catechism.  This service is designed to prepare God’s people for the theme of the upcoming Sunday Divine Service.  The dialog sermon explains The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ (St. Matthew 26-27), which is the Holy Gospel for Palm Sunday.

The service concludes with “Responsive Prayer for Catechesis” (pdf link below).
