In Danger.

GRANT, we beseech Thee, Almighty God, that we, who in our tribulation are yet of good cheer because of Thy loving kind- ness, may find Thee mighty to save from all dangers; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.57).

In Cross Bearing.

O LORD, what cross willest Thou that I should bear this day for love of Thee? Thou knowest, Lord, that I am all weakness; strengthen me to bear it patiently, humbly, lovingly. If I sink under it, look upon me and raise me up. Give what Thou commandest and command what Thou wilt; sanctify my cross to me, and keep me Thine own forever: Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.57).

For Strength to Suffer and Persevere.

O LORD, let that become possible to me by Thy grace, which by nature seems impossible to me. Thou knowest that I am able to suffer but little, and that I am quickly cast down when a slight adversity ariseth: for Thy Name’s sake, let every exercise of tribulation be amiable and desirable to me; for to suffer and to be disquieted for Thy sake is very wholesome for my soul; Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.56-57).

In Suffering 2.

O GOD, Whose eyes regard Him Who for our sakes was poor: Be the Succorer of the heart that putteth its trust in Thee: and like as we do desire to be healed by the wounds of His Passion, grant that we may be delivered in all the dangers of our own; through the Same Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.56).

In Suffering.

O THOU, Who chastenest whom Thou lovest, grant us grace, we pray Thee, to discern Thy love in whatever suffering Thou sendest us; support us in patient thankfulness under pain, anxiety, or loss, and move us with pity and tenderness for our afflicted neighbors; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.56).

In Adversity.

REDEEM, O Lord, the souls of Thy servants, who put their trust in Thee; grant of Thy clemency that we may find Thy blessing in adversity as well as in prosperity; and, because Thou art nigh to them that are of a contrite heart, open Thine ears to the spirit of our sorrow and need, and let Thy peace, which passeth all understanding, keep our souls and bodies; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.54).

In Trouble.

WE call on Thee, O Lord, in the day of our trouble, that Thou wouldest give us the increase of faith and hope, to the end that we may come to the everlasting inheritance of love; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.54).

For Purity of Heart.

O GOD, who lovest all that is sincere and pure, and dwellest of Thy bountiful goodness in the chaste souls of the faithful: Purify us from all taint of sin, that we may always have our heart ready for Thee, and sing and play worthily unto Thee in Thy glory; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.42).

Before a Journey 2.

O GOD, WHO didst bring Abraham, Thy son, out of Ur of the Chaldees, and didst preserve him unhurt through all the ways of his pilgrimage: We beseech Thee, that Thou wouldest vouchsafe to keep us Thy servants: be unto us, O Lord, support in our setting out, comfort by the way, a shadow in the heat, a covering in the rain and cold, a chariot in weariness, protection in adversity, a staff in slippery ways and a harbor in shipwreck: that under Thy guidance we may reach in prosperity the place whither we are going and at length return to our home in safety; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.46).

To do God’s Will.

GOOD Jesus, Word of the Father, Splendor of the Father’s glory, on Whom the angels desire to gaze; Teach me to do Thy will, that led by Thy good Spirit I may reach that blessed City where is eternal day. and One Spirit amongst all, where is certain safety, and safe eternity, and eternal peace and peaceful happiness, and happy sweetness and sweet enjoyment where Thou livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.41-42).
