For Constancy.

O GOD, incomprehensible, Who doest great wonders, Who changest the waters, which once stood still in Thy sight, at later time into wine: We humbly beseech Thee to hear the voice of our crying, to bestow on us such remembrance that we may never forget Thee; livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.59-60).

To Rejoice in God’s Will Toward Us.

O GOD, Who chastisest us in Thy love, and refreshest us amid Thy chastening: Grant that we may ever be able to give Thee thanks for both; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.59).

For Hope amid Tribulation.

HEAR us, we beseech Thee, O Lord, and have mercy upon us in our tribulations; and as Thou alone art glorious over the people, give spiritual joy to us, who look for the hope of Thine eternal rewards; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.59).

Against Despair.

O ALMIGHTY God, although our iniquities have offended Thee: Grant that our prayers and our confession may obtain Thy mercy, that through Thy loving kindness, no. tribulation of this world may cause us to despair, no harmful persuasion may allure us to evil: but that the light of Thy countenance may shine upon us. and that from Thy light in this world, we may come to the light of Thine everlasting vision: through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.58-59).

In Deep Distress 2.

O LORD, Who didst of old time suffer in our body, when wilt Thou look upon us? When wilt Thou turn the eyes of Thy clemency to our groans and distress? Delay not, tarry not, now draw nigh; now be Thou turned to us; now regard us, that our prayer, which now, by reason of our secret sins, returns back again into our own bosom, may, by the abundance of Thy mercy, enter into Thy presence, and be accepted by Thee. Amen. Through Thy mercy, Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.58).

In Deep Distress.

O LORD, let Thy mercy speedily go before us, tor there is neither comforting hope, nor trust in merit, nor helpful assistance to support us; but the guilt and trouble of our life, the consciousness of our sins, or the vengeance on our offences rebukes us in our sins for Thy name’s sake, that when Thou hast done both for Thyself, and hast looked on Thy people with Thy wonted loving kindness, we may give Thee glory for Thy deliverance; through Thy mercy; who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen. (Oremus, 1925, p.58).

In Persecution.

GOD, Who searchest the heart and triest the reins, deliver us from them that persecute us; and grant us, through the expectation of Thy judgment, such firm trust of heart that we may never recompense to our enemies evil for evil; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.57).

In Danger.

GRANT, we beseech Thee, Almighty God, that we, who in our tribulation are yet of good cheer because of Thy loving kind- ness, may find Thee mighty to save from all dangers; through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.57).

In Cross Bearing.

O LORD, what cross willest Thou that I should bear this day for love of Thee? Thou knowest, Lord, that I am all weakness; strengthen me to bear it patiently, humbly, lovingly. If I sink under it, look upon me and raise me up. Give what Thou commandest and command what Thou wilt; sanctify my cross to me, and keep me Thine own forever: Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.57).

For Strength to Suffer and Persevere.

O LORD, let that become possible to me by Thy grace, which by nature seems impossible to me. Thou knowest that I am able to suffer but little, and that I am quickly cast down when a slight adversity ariseth: for Thy Name’s sake, let every exercise of tribulation be amiable and desirable to me; for to suffer and to be disquieted for Thy sake is very wholesome for my soul; Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen  (Oremus, 1925, p.56-57).
