Catechesis on Sexagesima (Luke 8:4-15) 2021

On Wednesday nights, Trinity Lutheran Church(Herrin, IL) offers to both children and adults an opportunity for teaching with Learn-by-Heart at 6:30 PM and a catechetical service at 7:00.  This service is designed to prepare God’s people for the theme of the upcoming Sunday Divine Service.  The dialog sermon explains the parable of the sower sowing the seed and the four types of soil (Luke 8:4-15), which is the Holy Gospel for Sexagesima Sunday.  Learn-by-Heart will include hymn #83, stanza 3 of “O God of God, O Light of Light,” Small Catechism, Sacrament of the Altar, 1, and Psalm 1:2 or Luke 8:18.
